The Trial of
Evan Gage
In October 1998,
a nuclear exchange takes place on the
Kazakhstan/Chinese border. Then in December, a mentally
disturbed drifter named Evan Gage is arrested for the murder
of the newly elected governor of Texas and his family.
After a speedy trial, Gage, now a convicted
killer, escapes,
but no one seems to care. Instead officials are occupied with
the intense search for a former CIA director's son who
disappeared on a Black Op. And with the United States on
the
brink of a major war, President John William Pearson, III, seems
more focused on his own secret agenda.
What's going on?
Can all of these
incidents possibly be connected?

Incident at Tybee Island
The first sequel to The Trial of Evan Gage
A
nuclear device is missing. Members of al Qaeda are the prime suspects.
The only question remaining is where and when are the terrorists
going to detonate the bomb?
Fact: On the night of February 5, 1958, a B-47 bomber on a simulated
combat mission out of Homestead Air Force base in Florida was involved
in a mid-air collision with a fighter jet escort off the coast of
Georgia. The fighter pilot ejected safely, but to save the badly
damaged B-47, the nuclear bomb it carried was jettisoned into the
Atlantic Ocean somewhere near Tybee Island. In the months that followed,
the Air Force tried but failed to locate the bomb. Since there was
no triggering mechanism to arm the bomb, the decision was finally
made to abandon the search. Over the years that followed, Tybee
Island became increasingly fashionable with vacationers, and with
them the population and construction grew. So much so, that in 2002,
the Air Force was asked to search again for the bomb. The thought
that a nuclear device could still be so close to expensive beachfront
property did not sit well with either developers or homeowners.
Fiction: (or is it?) After the events of 9/11/2001, the renewed
search for the bomb by the Air Force takes on new meaning. "Since
1958 we've put men on the moon, discovered DNA and cloned a sheep,"
remarks a member of the Air Force crew assigned to the mission.
"How tough can this be?" The good news: With all the advances
in technology, locating the bomb is now relatively easy. The bad
news: It soon becomes obvious that someone has beaten them to it.
And recently, too. For despite lying on the seabed for forty-four
years, with the right equipment to make it active, the bomb is still
as powerful as ever. Flying passenger aircraft into the World Trade
Center and the Pentagon is one thing. A nuclear bomb in the wrong
hands is quite another.
In this first sequel to The Trial of Evan Gage, the reader will again
meet some familiar characters. From Georgia to Florida, Texas to
Pennsylvania, a Presidential campaign contributor, a former KGB
agent and a homegrown militant all add to the mix. And why is the
British Secret Service taking such a sudden interest? So when the
FBI, CIA and everyone else involved are chasing the obvious, how
could a terrorist's wife be the key? In the end, no one comes close
to predicting the terrorists' eventual target, but stopping them
becomes the one and only goal. It's a race against time. Or will
part of the United States cease to exist? With a few surprises along
the way, the final outcome isn't what anyone expected.
